About Us
She Found Peace was born from the lived experience of its founder, Onesa Anozie, during her journey as a NICU mother — a season marked by hospital visits, sleepless nights, and the constant tension between hope and heartbreak.
Through this experience, Onesa witnessed firsthand how a child’s medical journey impacts not only the patient, but the entire family — especially the mother.
While receiving exceptional medical care, she also recognized a gap that often goes unseen: the emotional and psychological toll of medical motherhood.
Through She Found Peace, Onesa now uses both her lived experience and professional background in social work to educate and equip healthcare professionals, organizations, and communities with a deeper understanding of what families are truly navigating during these seasons.
Her work focuses on helping professionals provide more compassionate, trauma-informed support to mothers and families facing pediatric medical complexity.
By bringing awareness to the emotional realities of medical motherhood, her mission is to help transform how families experience care — so they feel seen, supported, and understood during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Behind She Found Peace
Behind She Found Peace is its founder, Onesa Anozie — a speaker, social worker, and advocate dedicated to advancing compassionate, trauma-informed support for families navigating medical complexity.
Onesa’s work is rooted in both professional experience and a deeply personal journey. In 2020, her twin boys were born prematurely at 31 weeks due to Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), a rare and life-threatening condition. While both survived, their paths were complex — one spending 28 days in the NICU, and the other enduring 290 days across the NICU and PICU, facing end-stage renal failure and ultimately receiving a life-saving kidney transplant.
These experiences within hospital systems provided Onesa with a perspective few professionals have — the lived reality of navigating prolonged medical uncertainty, emotional strain, and the long-term impact on families, particularly mothers.
With a Master’s degree in Social Work and over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, Onesa brings both clinical expertise and lived insight to her work. Today, she equips healthcare professionals, organizations, and communities with a deeper awareness of the emotional realities families face during pediatric medical journeys.
Through She Found Peace, her mission is to help transform how families experience care — ensuring that mothers and families are not only treated medically, but supported emotionally, compassionately, and holistically.
